The Foundation
The Wyoming Mining Natural Resource Foundation is a non-profit corporation. The impetus to form the Foundation was an outgrowth of a cooperative, voluntary conservation initiative led by the trona/soda ash industry with an objective of benefiting the Greater sage-grouse and other sagebrush obligate species and conserving the habitat on which they depend in southwestern Wyoming.
Board of Directors
The Wyoming Mining Natural Resource Foundation Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from like-minded companies with many years of collective experience in the mining industry

Julie Lutz
Chairman
Board Member since 2016
Julie works as an Environmental Engineer at Genesis Alkali in Green River, Wyoming. In this capacity she leads Genesis' Conservation Initiatives as well as other wildlife related projects. She holds B.S.’s in Wildlife Management and Biology, and a minor in Water Resources from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. She has worked in the Wyoming Trona Industry for 20 years, and prior to that she worked for natural resource agencies in the west and Midwest.
Serving on the founding board of the Foundation is a professional highlight, as the creation of the Foundation exemplifies the impact a truly collaborative process can have on a landscape. The Foundation also serves as an example of one of the many unique and proactive actions taken to navigate through tough conservation challenges; and one that can be used as a model for similar industry initiatives in other areas. Julie looks forward to watching the Foundation grow and develop long lasting partnerships that will benefit a multitude of species and change how industry engages with the community we work in and support.
